Pubblichiamo la lettera del Presidente EEF Prof. A. Basset . La SItE condivide i principi e le finalità dell’iniziativa.

Dear EEF member Societies and European ecologists,

There are times when scientific societies need clearly to affirm the universality and consistency of their science. With the European Union facing the departure of the UK and decreasing consensus in other European countries, it seems such a time for our society. On behalf of the EEF Board and Council, I would like to assure everybody that the European Ecological Federation represents the scientific ecological community of the whole Europe and that we will continue to put all our efforts into working with you and on your behalf in order to strengthen ecological science in your country and the whole of Europe, no matter what happens. We will dedicate more energy than ever before to our mission, providing a forum for effective communication throughout the community of ecological scientists, disseminating ecological knowledge, acting as reliable advisors in the field of public policy, and promoting collaborative activities. We shall not cease to campaignfor greater public support for the science of ecology and to encourage and help young ecologists

in the early stages of their careers.

E’ disponibile il bando che descrive le modalità per partecipare ad una Short-Term Scientific Mission (STSM) nell’ambito della COST Action CA15121 (http://www.cost.eu/COST_Actions/ca/CA15121) Advancing Marine Conservation in the European and Contiguous Seas (MarCons). Si tratta di una ottima opportunità per dottorandi e post-doc di visitare e condurre brevi periodi di ricerca in laboratori che appartengano a paesi eleggibili coinvolti nella COST Action.
